A Quick Spring Break on Dauphin Island

Dauphin Island has always been a special place to my family. My parents have been full-time islanders for over 10 years now, but my husband and I both grew up nearby in Mobile. While we now live in Nashville, we’re still on the island often throughout the year. What we love most about this place is the laid-back energy and easy pace. There’s plenty to do, but also nothing to do at the same time... and that’s exactly the beauty of it. Life just slows down here in the best way.

For this spring break trip, my husband and son stayed home while I flew into Pensacola with my 20-month-old daughter. A little girls trip getaway was just what we needed!

Day 1
After landing, we made the drive down to the island and stopped for a must-have: Pirates Pizza on the way in. Their pizza is always fresh and loaded with toppings!

Day 2
The next morning was slow and easy. I caught a few too many rays on the dock while squeezing in a little remote work. Leftover pizza for lunch. After Lily’s nap, we took a family walk across the street to check out the new boardwalk at Bienville Beach, which is such a nice addition to the island and a perfect spot for a sunset stroll!

Later that evening, we had dinner at Pirates Bar & Grill to soak in the view one more time. This week marks their final week at the iconic Isle Dauphine location. We’re excited about their new venture, Bienville Bar & Grill, plus their smaller restaurant coming soon in the lighthouse building!

Day 3
We started the day with a quick trip to Mobile to visit family, then headed back to the island. On the bridge, I called in my go-to lunch order from Miguel's Beach'n Baja, a burrito bowl with black beans, shrimp, and no sour cream. Dinner was fresh caught redfish from our neighbor :)

Day 4
Before heading back to the airport, my parents and I reorganized the Dauphin Island Apparel inventory so we’re ready for spring orders. Good news for island locals: we’re now offering consistent doorstep delivery on the island!

Until next time, Dauphin Island.
